Data center

A data center is a physical premise where IT equipment (mainframe computers, servers, routers, network equipment, etc.) is located. Its role is to store and centralize data. By extension, it refers to a large-scale industrial exploitation of processing capacities.

This term is generally associated with website hosts or cloud service providers who have many servers to store and manage data from their customers’ sites and applications.
