Persistent environment

A persistent environment is a specific augmented reality technology.

Persistent environments within mobile apps mean that a given 3D element remains visible to others even if the user who created the element exits the augmented reality experience.

For example, some objects in Pokémon Go (a Pokémon or any other objects) will remain displayed whether or not their creator is active. Users can see elements that were generated by others.
